Jaïpur Bouquet by Boucheron

I have always loved white floral perfumes, and woody ones even more so. I can across i by accident while window shopping online, and while I know I should not judge a book by its cover the bottle looked so pretty it intrigued me to look it up. The notes which boastes of patchouli, sandalwood, and jasmine, sounded lovely. I did not quite expect what I got however.... Long story short, for 25€/100ml, it sounded like a reasonable blind buy risk, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. It came in a funky box, and it is shaped like a ring or a bracelet from the jewelry house's classic designs, in turquoise/petrol shades. The cap is a little tricky, because it is the little "jewel" at the top, and its smooth, sounded shape make it a little hard for clumsy fingers like mine to open, but thankfully it snaps perfectly into place. The sprayer nozzle is also sturdy and sprays perfectly.  The scent itself......WOW.

Eau Rose Solid Perfume by Diptyque

Εικόνα
This was a blind buy last summer when my desperation for a replacement scent to my favourite perfume of thirteen years reached its peak. I loved the idea of a solid perfume, which I had first been acquainted with several years ago with a limited edition of the previously mentioned favourite perfume, and the beautiful packaging temped me beyond the burn of its price point.  The compact is very heavy and beautiful, with a colourful carved rose on the lid while the rest of it is glossy black. There is a small magnet that makes the lid snap closed. My only problem is that i am a bit clumsy and the little grove on the front that separates the lid from the bottom part isn't enough for my awkward fingers to find it and open it effortlessly; I have to fumble a bit.  This particular compact is refillable, ans it comes with a little metal pin that you can insert into the hole on the back to push out the empty perfume pan and replace it with a new one. The refills are quite c...

Cafe (1978) by Cafe Parfums: Opium dupe?

Εικόνα
I found this perfume while searching online for perfumes that had something to do with coffee. The name intrigued me, and reading the profile, so heavy on insence, I was intrigued even more. The online reviews mentioned how similar it is to the original Opium of 1977 and suggested it may have been intended as a dupe of it. After looking into the brand a bit, and seduced by the price, I ended up buying it.  The 100ml bottle is simple glass, nothing fancy, but sturdy enough and comfortable to the hand, with raised designs of a rose and coffee grounds on it. The plastic neck and cap feel very cheap, and very dated, both due to the light, flimsy feeling plastic and because of the cappuccino brown shade with gold lettering. The neck feels slightly wobbly, and the cap is comically tiny, but the sprayer feels as secured in its place as it feels cheap, and sprays perfectly well without so far causing any issues. This please me, as I have a couple of other perfume bottles, namel...

NUXE Huile secret Neroli Dry oil

Nuxe has come up with a new version of its renowned nourishing body oil, made with organic olive oil and scented with organic neroli fragrance oil.   It comes in a dark green bottle, which makes me think it may have to do with the higher natural content of the ingredients, as neroli is in the citrus family and their oils are notorious for not holding well against sunlight. For this reason I believe you would be better off incorporating it in your nightly beauty routine and avoid using it during the day.  The oil seems to have pretty much the same consistency as the classic one. It spreads the same (perhaps a tad more smooth, but that doesn't seem to affect its absorbtion), and sinks into the skin the same as well.  The scent is lovely, an intense, and euphoric, true to life neroli (bitter orange) blossom scent. It's lovely, and quite intense on the skin. I am going to admit I have not bought it, just tried it on my hands and forearms a number of times at the store. B...
